Gutter cleaning with CCTV inspection
A gutter can be empty and still not work. If the fall is wrong, a joint has opened, or a downpipe is restricted below the visible run, clearing the debris changes nothing — and you find out the following winter, from the inside. That is the reason we put a camera on every gutter job as standard rather than selling it as an add-on.
What the CCTV actually shows you
- The cleared run, so you can see it is clear rather than take our word for it.
- Standing water, which means the fall is wrong or the bracket line has dropped — the most common cause of a persistent damp patch.
- Open or failed joints, where water leaves the system behind the fascia instead of at the downpipe.
- Rust and perforation in cast iron, usually at the back of the run where nobody looks.
- Restricted downpipes and blocked hopper heads, which are frequently the actual fault when the gutter itself is fine.
- Vegetation rooted in the run, which will return in weeks if only the top growth is removed.
How it is done
Vacuum clearance from the ground with a pole-mounted camera, up to four storeys on most domestic and small commercial properties. No ladders leaning on the gutter you are paying to protect, and no walking the roof. Downpipes are flushed and checked for flow. Valleys and hopper heads on the same system are cleared as part of the visit.
What we do with what we find
We report it with the footage and price any repair separately. Nothing is fixed and added to the invoice. That matters because the most common upsell in this trade is a fault nobody can verify — which is exactly what the camera removes.

Frequently asked questions
Is the CCTV an extra?
No. It is part of every gutter job we do. A cleared gutter and a working gutter are not the same thing, and the camera is how you tell the difference.
Do I get a copy of the footage?
Yes, with the photo handover, along with a note of anything worth watching.
Can you reach a three-storey property?
Yes, from the ground with pole-and-vac equipment on most three-storey properties in this area. Above that we look at the access before quoting.
How often should this be done?
Annually for most properties, twice a year under heavy tree cover. Late autumn once the leaf fall has finished is the single most useful visit of the year.
