The problem
Sea air and shaded roof sections had accelerated moss growth, especially on the cooler side of the house. The owners were seeing debris in the gutters and wanted the roof cleaned before the winter weather returned.
The priority was to clear the growth properly and bag it rather than washing it into the drainage system.
What we did
We scraped the tiles by hand, bagged the moss, cleared the edges, and then applied biocide across the treated slopes. The visit ran as a one-day job with tidy-up completed before we left. Drone stills were taken before and after to show the difference in roof tone and debris build-up.
How we priced it
The fixed written price was £625 including scrape, bagging, treatment, and roof-edge clean-up. Access was standard for the property and no extra plant or scaffold was required.
The result
The roof looked sharper from the street, the loose moss had gone, and the owner had a clear set of image records for future maintenance planning. The treatment also meant the roof was not relying on a cosmetic rinse that would quickly fade.
